Make New Friends But Keep The Old

You know those friends that you don’t see or talk to for ages but when you do, it’s like you never missed a thing? That would be my kikiD. Our mamas have been friends for 33 years & we were born 3 months apart. We were babies together & went to preschool together, then parted ways. We ended up at the same school in 6th grade & went on to graduate high school together.

I didn’t do any chores today, except check my calves & helped spray a set of heifers in the evening. Instead I went to Russellville, Arkansas to meet my oldest friend. It’s about 3 hours from the house. Caitlyn sill lives in California but was doing an internship in Texas. She’s on her way back to CA but timing worked out & we were able to meet today.

We planned on going to lunch at a BBQ place but what do ya know…Every single joint in town was closed! I ended up stumbling into Stobys because there were a ton of people outside. Well they were closed & only open because they were doing all you can eat pancake and sausage benefit. So we ate pancakes & sausage for lunch. We didn’t care because we were just so excited to see each other since it had been since 2009! It was so good to see her and catch up on life, although we didn’t get nearly enough time!
